First, of course, the question arises as to what constitutes a “good project” and what does not.

Clearly, the answer is different for everyone, and some people want to prove themselves, while others just want to take it easy.

But basically, you can find out in advance whether the project will be difficult and challenging, or whether you will have good support and a simpler environment!

In addition to the technological challenges, which you can or should examine in advance, it is also important to consider the human component.

Here are some questions you can ask yourself:

  • Is the technology available or new?
  • Who are the partners for technologies and implementation?
  • Will you also be integrated into the operation?
  • What responsibilities will you have and what consequences can you expect?
  • Who are the people behind the partners and teams?
  • Are there turf wars between the partners?
  • Many questions that are also answered in the article “Project Success” can be examined in advance, allowing important insights to be gained that affect the selection or acceptance of a project or its management.

For example, the question of whether it is possible to visit one or more partners in person (travel expenses!) before the project starts can provide many answers. If it is already apparent at this stage that this is “too expensive,” “too time-consuming,” “too complicated,” or “unnecessary,” you should already be alert, because nothing can replace personal contact. Nothing at all!

Perhaps you can think of similar questions that could be asked, or you have had painful experiences and now know what was a bad omen at the beginning? Feel free to share them with us and we will include good tips in our articles, which help many people to better cope with their everyday working lives and enjoy their challenges more.

The testing options and decision-making aids are complex, and every project brings new experiences.
